The Story Behind the Madonna di Senigallia Print by Della Francesca
Painted around 1474, the Madonna di Senigallia Art Print demonstrates Piero Della Francesca’s high-quality use of light and his attention to detail. The small scale of the master painting implies that it was originally intended for private worship. The original of the Madonna di Senigallia Art Print is currently housed in the Ducal Palace of Urbino. The painting was discovered in 1822 just outside Senigallia which has given the painting its current name.
