The Fortune Teller Print
The Fortune Teller art print by French artist Georges de La Tour is an oil painting created around 1630. De La Tour’s use of rich colours and textures portrays an old Gypsy woman reading a young man’s fortune as her beautiful friends take the opportunity to rob him. The painting has only recently been uncovered in the mid-twentieth century. This modern discovery of De La Tour’s The Fortune Teller art print was purchased by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for an undisclosed sum in 1960.
