The Story Behind The Kiss of Judas Print
The Arrest of Christ or the Kiss of Judas art print is part of a fresco painted by Giotto at the Scrovegni (Arena) Chapel in Padua, Italy around 1304 to 1306. It depicts Jesus and Judas, surrounded by followers and enemies with Judas reaching up to give Jesus a kiss. This fresco is a great example of Giotto’s talent at painting the human anatomy, with the realistically draped clothing and the emotional faces of the figures. While the Arrest of Christ/The Kiss of Judas art print fresco has deteriorated, this has revealed Giotto’s fresco techniques of working in several layers using different materials.
