The Story Behind the Fortitude Print by Botticelli

The Fortitude print was the first recorded piece from Botticelli and originated from a series of wooden panel paintings portraying the seven heavenly virtues. It was completed in 1470 and depicts a female character called Fortitude, inspired by Fortuna, the Goddess of fertilisation and destiny. The master painting of the Fortitude print by Botticelli is currently exhibited in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy
