The Magdalen with the Smoking Flame Print
Depicting Mary Magdalene, this oil on canvas painting entitled ‘The Magdalen with the Smoking Flame’ art print was painted by French Baroque painter Georges de La Tour around 1640. De La Tour had a poignant style of painting, although his early training is a matter of speculation. The simplistic composition of The Magdalen with the Smoking Flame art print, draws the viewer, achieving a balance of form and light. There are two versions of The Magdalen with the Smoking Flame art print, one in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the other (La Madeleine a la Veilleuse) in the Louvre Museum.
