The Story Behind the Narcissus Print by Caravaggio
The Narcissus print by Caravaggio portrays the story of a young man who falls in love with his own reflection, ultimately leading to his death from self-obsession. It was painted around 1597 and is inspired by classical mythology which was a rare them that Caravaggio depicted. The original Narcissus print is now displayed by the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica which is in Rome.
