The Story Behind the Madonna of Peace Print
Painted around 1490, the Madonna of Peace print is an oil on panel painting by Pinturicchio, who was part of a new generation of artists working in Rome. The painting, also known as the Madonna Dell Pace print is highly praised by art critics and shows the Madonna with Baby Jesus in her lap. This painting by Pinturicchio is one of few authentically autographed works from his early mature period and is said to reveal Pinturicchio's study of Flemish painting. The master painting of the Madonna of Peace print is currently within The Pinacoteca Civica Padre Pietro Tacchi Venturi, a civic art gallery in the town of San Severino Marche, Italy.
